Different books in format, size, age, origin, color, author and publisher were installed in these windows with the intention of emphasizing the openings in the building, understanding them as interstitial spaces that connect the outside world with the intimacy housed within the Birthplace of our Sarmiento hero.
Already in its third edition, each time with a different format, this intervention aims to make tangible the unmistakable relationship between Domingo Faustino Sarmiento and books. He said that he was what he was thanks to the fact that he could read from a very young age. In this way his ideology, his intellectuality and his life are marked by education through books. The meaning of written language in his time is not the same as it is today. That’s why the book is valued at this artwork as an object pertinent to his life, his work and his time.
